MCL NG Halloween Event 2024 - Jason Scene

thoughts on the jason scene from the halloween episode and my personal opinion under the cut (beware of spoilers <3):

(just me yapping, as usual)

i mean, disappointed but not surprised.

as a general overview: it was overall very boring, unoriginal following the same theme of ep 6 (is this gonna be a common thing? is this gonna be "their thing"?), and just weird and creepy?

along with episode 7, this is the second instance where ysaline tries to physically harm jason (which is a type of plot point that baffles me in contemporary romance) and this time she actually does? she wounds him (he is described as bleeding and being aa mildly serious cut, somehow a boxcutter managed to tear through clothing and make a considerable gash but thats whatever i guess)? im sorry? this is not the kind of romantic plot that i expected or wanted, i know i joke a lot about these things but i really find it creepy that, again, physically harming the guy im supposed to like is another common theme?

and that brings me to my other issue with the episode, whats the point????? in what moment you decide that it would be a wonderful idea to dress like a serial killer and chase around a woman that is genuinely, actually scared of you right now? maybe im the sensitive mf here but where is the fun in frightening like that (frightening to the point of wanting to stab you ????) someone you allegedly like? (and also reminder that these two *barely*, *hardly* know each other at this point, they're not friends, they're hardly acquaitances) and then just dropping the "haha it was a joke i like that you have courage like that ;) i want you by my side in my company" ? hey just as a little heads up BV, throwing in a cool quote or a fun flirty dialogue and illustration that people will like, right after a questionable scene, doesnt automatically cancel it out yknow

maybe its me that im too critical, maybe its me that i like doing deep dives, maybe its me that im too autistically hooked onto this game to consume it surface level, i dont know

oh yeah, also, i found the episode unbareably boring despite all of this and we have very little actual time with him, which at this point im used to i guess

to end this, and repeatinng points i mentioned before, this is far from what i expected from jason's route when i started this game, i would rather, i would *love* if his route was based around a lot of sexual attraction and mutual hornyness that eventually and slowly develops into a real romance and "oh no i actually have feelings for her/him and its no longer fooling around", than whatever creepy "cat and mouse" game they have now, but anyway

i need to say that the closeness and that hand on the shoulder is doing things to me, wish it had a different context but ill just write my own scenario for it, hopefully before the year 3000 because i still have that episode 7 inspired scene half done swimming in the drafts

MCL NG Halloween event day 1 yapping 🎃

I really like the new event and how it works, so let's skip to the parts I DON'T like first!

I hateee that the different colors are limited to the event... Let me buy it whenever I want once it's unlocked omg!!! Especially since they're all SOOO expensive individually!! I definitely won't be able to play the next episode and I don't know for how long (Also because I'll be gone that weekend so even if I had the AP and Gems, I still would have to wait,, I'm consoled since the next EP for The Sims 4 is coming out Thursday and I'm eating that pack up but now we're going offtopic...)

I guess that it makes sense that they're "exclusive"... Since that's like the main way to get money

🐝: "Oh, you want different colors for this item? Too bad you either spend ALMOST 200 AP for something (which we know you dont have❤️ so pay us up❤️) or you have to wait another year!!"

I'm also just joking right now so don't take me too seriously but yeah,, I wasn't expecting everything to be cheap, BUT OMG !!! So EXPENSIVE and for WHAT?!? (I say, again, as if I don't know why already)

I also don't like how we only have two outfits and one paid outfit, I guess I should count the free gift as well since that makes it 4 and I'm okay with that?

It's also nice, we get a free outfit, then we get two more from the event and there's another extra for those who want to pay the price (me...)

I love the new eyes and mouth! Was really looking forward to getting more and these did not disappoint!! I also love how the bats have different variants... I got many... And they're priced 77AP so yeah don't ask me how I'm doing

I don't really like how the doll outfit's dress is only one piece tho :( It'll be hard to style that with other things but I shall do it anyway...

I was also hoping to get more short haircuts but the ones we got aren't bad at all and we definitely don't have anything like those already! I knew people wanted a longer curly wig so I hope you all enjoy it!!

And since I've moved from the things I hate let me pass to the things I've enjoyed (again?)

Like I said at the beginning, I like the new minigame and how it works, it's fun and quick too? I also like the way the points are given out (because it's easier to get many points than just a few)

The site's layout is nice, I like the new colors and I also really like the new rooms we get!! (Somewhat offtopic from the layout but I just remembered lol) I haven't unlocked anything so far from the F2P room, but I love the vampire-themed one! (oh well of course I do, I'm one myself after all...)

Last thing that comes to mind are the Illustrations and scenes! I've only played Amanda's and Jason's so far, but I enjoyed both (Amanda's more too!!)

The illustrations are MESMERIZING (I'm looking at you again, Amanda!!!!) I've only seen the other ones quickly from other people's posts and the third one that looked really good to me was Thomas's! Roy's and Devon's didn't particularly catch my interest, IDK what's going on in those so I'll have to wait and see!

I love all of the LI's costumes so much too!! My favorites probably being Thomas and Devon because they fit surprisingly well!

I wasn't that sure about Vampire!Amanda but she's sooo gorgeous like!! Her platinum blonde hair fits very well... I'm glad I'm getting back into her 😭❤️🙏🏻

Honestly you can't be surprised that I like almost everything since it's an Halloween event, I'm also cutting this short (as if it's not a long af post already) because I have to get ready for work...

Let me know what you all think of it so far! I'm always going in with 0 expectations so that's my trick to never get disappointed (See where the only thing I wish we had was the permanent items in the wardrobe and that's like the main thing I was disappointed in? That's what I mean)

I really wish I could post the special edits and texts I made for New Gen's Halloween event today, but unfortunately, I'm still in the middle of editing the second image.

I've been at this for longer than I would like... But at least I'm very satisfied with the result.

It will end up coming out in the next few days, so be patient. (Not that anyone is charging me, I'm doing it myself-)

I really liked the Coraline vibes off the Puppet outfit with the button eyes. Just used the pink pieces to fit her aesthetic. I would've liked the buns on their own though.

And I believe the shoes are inspired by Marc Jacobs? Those look like they hurt tbh...

I decided to go with white for the witch outfit because I feel like Yvette wouldn't be into the spooky vibes of Halloween. It's giving "good witch" almost...

There is ONE THING someone would want the MOST from an event and it's damn sure is not that ugly ass room for fuck's sake.

(FYI: I scored a daily average of 1050 tokens, which is 2 pulls per day, plus I used some extra gems I had)

MCL NG Halloween event... 0/10

I stopped playing MCL LL events because Eric (my route) was never in them, I stopped playing Eldarya ANE events because I couldn't stand the game… and now I don't think I'll ever play an MCL NG event again, I don't think it's necessary to explain why….

I have never bothered to pay in beemoov games, I put a lot of money in MCL and Eldarya, in their best times (in MCL until the end), and I didn't want to say anything until now but I haven't put a single penny in MCL NG and I don't think I ever will, I just feel it's not worth it. FOR ME, MCL NG is a game for replays, not to enjoy as soon as it comes out like the others, all that special scenes for which you have to save like 2 months is exhausting…. I get stuck in the middle of the episodes in the best parts and when I can play I don't even remember where I was going, I mean it never happened to me, I'd rather spend my daily PA's on walking around and not meeting anyone than having to stop 2 months in the middle of a date because I don't have those blue hearts. … someday I'll pick up MCL NG when I have a lot of energy, for now I'm satisfied with NOT SPENDING MONEY ON THE GAME and watching the screenshots here and on facebook… sorry beemoov no more money for you, at least from me.

not to mention that I probably won't be able to get the images I want (I got 2 just from the 2 routes I'm not interested in at all).
